A short, slow film with our hotelier, Aurélian Halbeisen from Hôtel la Cour du Bailli in Bergheim, Alsace.
The Halbeisen family have lovingly maintained their beautiful hotel and vineyards on the estate in Bergeim since 1737. Aurélian explains his passion for creating beautiful, full bodied, fruity and aromatic wines and how he and his family will continue to nurture the grounds to continue producing the award-winning wine from Bergeim.
Inntravel offer Self-guided walking and cycling holidays (and combinations of the two) in this beautiful region and a two-night stay in Hôtel la Cour du Bailli is included in them all.
Our varied and gentle 6 night cycling holiday, Villages and Vineyards of Alsace follows the Alsace Wine Route –meandering in the valley between the Rhine and the Vosges Mountains. A chance to see and explore some of the prettiest towns and villages in Alsace, on two wheels including Eguisheim, Kaysersberg and of course, Bergheim. Our routes are flexible – gently meander along quiet country backroads through pretty villages or opt for a more challenging day by cycling up to visit one of the many hill-top châteaux that boast magnificent views across the valley.
If walking is more your thing, then opt for our moderately challenging walking holiday in Alsace, Castle’s, Vines and Forests. A self-guided hotel – hotel walking holiday with your luggage transported through rolling vineyards and woodland trails enjoying fine gastronomy and world-class wines.
If you’d like to combine both walking and cycling then our 7 night Alsace Discovery provides varied cycling, gently meandering in the valley through vineyards on quiet lanes – or more challenging routes in the foothills with moderately, challenging walking into the hills through beautiful varied woodland.
