The 2008 vintage is the perfect illustration of our continental Champagne climate, which is both warm and cool. Comtes 2008 carries with it this very
contrasted climatology, ranging from sunshine to coolness, revealing with intensity and crystal clarity the chalky terroir of the Grands Crus of the Côte
des Blancs from which it draws its identity, its appeal and its precision. The winter was very cold and long, with low rainfall. Spring was mild and damp, with little sunshine. The plants flowered in the first fortnight of June, whilst temperatures were still fairly cool. Ripening was rather slow and even, accompanied by fairly cool temperatures and some rain. The harvest took place from 15 September to 10 October in the sun, at relatively cool temperatures, which meant that the grapes were mature and very healthy.
Characteristics of the Wine : freshness, tension, purity, salinity, finesse and aromatic precision.
